Baripada: Bisoi and Gorumahisani police in a joint raid at Sudarshanpur village under Gorumahisani police limits of Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday arrested six persons in connection with the theft of a generator, a cutter machine and iron rods from a water tank construction site in Chatani village under Bisoi police limits on August 19.
The accused have been identified as Sailesh Nanda, Pranesh Mandal, Dusmant Pal, Shiekh Arman, Bikash Munda, and Desh Das. Police have seized the stolen materials.
The accused have been forwarded to court, police said.
According to the police, a generator, a cutter machine and a bundle of 8 mm rods were allegedly stolen on August 19 by some miscreants in a pick-up truck from the construction site of a water tank being constructed at Chatani under Bisoi police limits by Rural Water Supply & Sanitation (RWSS) under BASUDHA scheme.
After committing theft the miscreants had hidden the stolen goods at a place in Kuleisila panchayat under Gorumahisani police limits.
Following a written report by one Narayan Giri about the theft at Bisoi police station, the IIC had registered a case.
Acting on intelligence inputs, Bisoi and Gorumahisani police conducted a raid at Sudarshanpur village leading to the arrests and recovery of stolen materials.
