Bhubaneswar: The state government has announced that the construction of the 110.875 km, six-lane, access-controlled Greenfield Capital Region Ring Road from Rameshwar (NH-16) in Khordha district to Tangi (NH-16) will be completed within two and a half years, Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan informed the state assembly on Saturday.
In a written reply to a question from Banki MLA Devi Ranjan Tripathy, Minister Harichandan stated that the proposed ring road will pass through the districts of Khordha, Cuttack, and Dhenkanal, with a total estimated cost of Rs 8,307.74 crore. The project will be implemented under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) and divided into three construction packages:
- Rameshwar to Bilipada:250 km
- Bilipada to Gobindapur:295 km
- Gobindapur to Tangi:330 km
The minister added that the tender for the project was opened on 2 February 2026, and its evaluation is currently underway. The work order is expected to be issued by 31 March 2026, with construction scheduled to take two and a half years.
In addition, the government has taken steps for the construction of the Bhubaneswar Outer Ring Road. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this project is being prepared by Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation Ltd (OB & CC Ltd.).
