Bhubaneswar: A total of 61,882 ineligible members have been identified and removed from the state’s ration card data during the ongoing e-KYC verification process, as informed in the Odisha Assembly on Wednesday.
In response to a question from Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra shared the information in a written statement.
The statement also revealed that, during the verification process, 3,28,932 death cases were identified and removed from the ration card database. Additionally, 16,184 ineligible families were found and deleted during the survey.
The following is the district-wise breakdown of the death cases identified, ineligible families, and ineligible members removed from the ration card records:

The minister further mentioned that under the Odisha State Food Security (Targeted Public Distribution System) Rules, 2020, appropriate action will be taken against ineligible ration cardholders.
