Bhubaneswar: A total of 64,79,646 small farmers, marginal farmers and landless agricultural families have received assistance under the KALIA scheme in Odisha, informed Deputy Chief Minister Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment KV Singh Deo.
In a written reply to a query from BJD MLA from Baliguda Chakrapani Kanhar in the Odisha Assembly, Singh Deo said that as of now 45,67,524 small farmers, marginal farmers and 19,12,122 landless agricultural families have received assistance under the KALIA scheme.
Similarly, on 18th June 2024 a total of 29,73,980 farmers in the State received the 17th instalment of assistance under the PM Kisan Sammanidhi Yojana, the Minister added.
Singh Deo said that as per the yardstick of PM Kisan Yojana all categories of land holding farmers of the State can be included under the scheme.
He further informed that the Chief Minister while presenting this year’s budget has proposed to rename KALIA scheme as CM Kisan Yojana.
