Cuttack: The 69th State Police Duty Meet kicked off at the Police Ground in Buxi Bazaar, Cuttack, on Saturday after a gap of four years. As per reports, a total of 317 participants from 37 police districts across Odisha took part in the event which aims to promote camaraderie, sportsmanship, and professional excellence among police personnel.
Inaugurating the meet, Director-General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania highlighted the police department’s efforts in maintaining law and order, protecting citizens, and punishing criminals. He also emphasized the use of modern technology to tackle cybercrime, human trafficking, and bank fraud.
Additional Director-General (ADG) Crime Vinaytosh Mishra delivered the welcome address, while Crime Branch IG Saif Ahmad administered the oath to the participants.
The event will feature 18 different competitions, including athletics, football, hockey, and shooting. The meet will conclude on December 16, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expected to attend the closing ceremony.
