7 Devotees Injured

Bhubaneswar: Seven devotees sustained injuries after hot dal (lentil soup) accidentally spilled on them immediately following the offering of Mahaprasad at Srimandir in Puri on Sunday.

All the injured are residents of Nayagarh district.

According to reports, the incident took place in the afternoon when the Bojhias (shrine workers) were transferring the Mahaprasad from the sanctum sanctorum to another room within the temple premises. The hot dal slipped and fell on the devotees, resulting in scald injuries.

The injured were promptly rushed to the emergency health centre near the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) office in the Holy Town, where they received primary medical treatment.
