7 Odisha Players Training For Spot In Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Squad

Bhubaneswar: As Odisha is going to host the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2021, seven players from Odisha are training at the Junior Indian Hockey Camp and are in the reckoning for a spot in Indian Squad.

The players are Sudeep Chirmako, Sunil Jojo, Naveen Kujur, Gregory Xess, Abhishek Lakra, Cyril Lugun, and Sahil Kumar Nayak.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had yesterday announced that Odisha will host the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2021, scheduled from November 24 to December 5, at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

Addressing an event here, Naveen said, recently Hockey India had approached the State Government to support them for the Men’s Junior Hockey World Cup which is to be held in two months time.

On the occasion, Naveen unveiled the logo and trophy of the event – FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021, in the presence of International Hockey Federation (FIH) President, Narinder Batra.
