Bhubaneswar: The Railway Ministry has identified 7 stations in Odisha under the One Station One Product (OSOP) scheme, as per the outlay for 2023-24 in Union Budget. According to the East Coast Railway (ECoR), the following stations in the State have been selected for the programme:
- Puri for Pattachitra & Pipili Applique, Sweets;
- Cuttack for Silver Filigree, Handloom, Handicrafts;
- Rourkela for Tribal Products & Vermi-compost;
- Koraput for Kotpad Saree, toys;
- Dhenkanal for Dhokra Casting, Tribal jewellery;
- Sambalpur for Sambalpuri sarees & Garments, Terracotta; and
- Titlagarh for Bamboo Art & Craft.
In December 2022, the Ministry of Railways launched ‘One Station One Product’ (OSOP) scheme over Indian Railways with objectives to promote ‘Vocal for Local’ vision of the Government of India, provide a market for local/indigenous products and create additional income opportunities for the marginalised sections of society.
Total 28 stations under ECoR (including portions of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh) have enlisted in the OSOP scheme for 2023-24
