Berhampur: Seven students of Khallikote Higher Secondary School in Berhampur have been suspended for their alleged involvement in ragging of a girl student last month.
As per the notice issued by the office of the Principal, the seven students have been permanently suspended from the campus following the recommendation of the anti-ragging committee.
The notice stated that if the students are found in the campus, police is free to take appropriate legal action against them.
The members of Anti-Ragging Committee and Squad and Discipline have been directed to intimate immediately the local police station, if the suspended students are seen on and around the campus.
Principal Radhakanta Nayak said that some students had been suspended earlier soon after receiving the complaint. After the arrival of the recommendation of the anti-ragging committee, seven students have been permanently suspended.
Six out of them are second year students while one is a first year student. Copy of the notice has been circulated on the WhatsApp group of the school. Berhampur SP and IIC of Town Police Station has also received copy of the notice.
