**Dhenkanal:** Ahead of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s visit to Gandia and also a day after the BJD workers protested the visit of two Union Ministers Santosh Gangwar and Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti to Bargarh and ransacked the Union Textiles Minister’s vehicle, Dhenkanal police on Saturday detained 70 BJP activists.
As per reports, the BJP protestors were detained from Baji Rout Chowk (entrance to Gandia) in the district headquarters town.
Police said the BJP activists were planning to show black flags, hurl rotten eggs and mangoes at the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister’s visit to Gandia was scheduled at about 11.30 am today (Saturday) to inaugurate the South Rengali Canal.
As per news update, BJP protestors showed black flags to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Gandia meeting venue. 70 activists detained along with Dhenkanal BJP president Bibhuti Pradhan while former BJP MP Rudranarayan Pani was reportedly detained at Angul.
