70 Lakh Women Involved In Mission Shakti: Minister Tukuni Sahu

Bhubaneswar: Mission Shakti is a successful movement and 70, 00,010 women have joined in it, informed Mission Shakti Minister Tukuni Sahu in the Odisha Assembly today.

In a written reply to a query from Congress Member Tara Prasad Bahinipati, the Minister told that as of now the State government has provided financial assistance of Rs 819,67,33,000 to Mission Shakti.

Sahu informed that 3, 48,192 women have joined Mission Shakti in Koraput district.

As of now Mission Shakti in Koraput district has been allocated financial assistance of Rs 30, 54, 12,000, the Minister said.

Members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) are engaged in fish farming, mushroom cultivation, vegetable cultivation, management of paddy market yards, distribution of midday meals, management of public distribution system, management of Mission Shakti Bhojanalayas, distribution of pre-school uniform, providing food to patients in hospitals, distribution of chhatua to Anganwadi Kendras, poultry farming, goat rearing, cultivation of cash crops, plant nurseries, managing millet cleaning machines and collection of electricity of bills, she added.
