72nd I-Day: Odisha CM Pays Rich Tributes To Freedom Fighters, Martyrs, Exhorts All For A Brighter Tomorrow
**Bhubaneswar:** On the auspicious occasion of 72nd Independence Day, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unfurled the national flag at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg while gracing the State-level Independence Day celebration here at the capital city.
Paying rich tributes to the freedom fighters and martyred, the Chief Minister also remembered the great sons of Odisha soil, who sacrificed their lives during the freedom struggle of the country.
On the occasion, the CM remembered Mahatma Gandhi, Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose, Madhusudan Das, Buxi Jagabandhu, Veer Surendra Sai, Gopabandhu Chowdhury, Nabakrushna Chowdhury, Ramadevi, Malati Chowdhury, Parbati Giri, Shaheed Lakhshman Naik, Dr Harekrushna Mahatab and Biju Patnaik for their noble contributions to the freedom and sovereignty of the motherland.
Addressing the people of the State, the CM said Odisha Government is giving priority to farmers, women and youths. The farmers are being provided with loan at 1% interest rate as they are the backbone of our society.
He reminded that universal brotherhood, harmony, peace and prosperity are the main mantras of our State.
“Like the freedom struggle, Odisha has carved a niche in the country’s development at various areas as well. Power is the way to development. Odisha has developed today, there’s still miles to go ahead. That is why I have given importance towards the development of farmers, women and youth of our state. They are the base of our future development,” said the Odisha Chief Minister.
He beamed, “After successfully hosting the Asian Athletics, it is a pride and privilege that we are hosting the Hockey World Cup in the coming November.”
“In a democracy, the most important thing is peace and co-existence. That is why we have been giving our full efforts and priority to the social security of our people,” the CM stated.
He announced, “I am immensely happy that I could keep my promise to you all. From today, Biju Kalyan Yojana is getting implemented.”
Exhorting all, “In the development of our country, I am happy to announce that Odisha has established its right place. Let’s build a brighter tomorrow together.”
