Bhubaneswar: The condition of the minor girl from Balanga in Puri district, who sustained 75% burn injuries in a brutal attack, remains critical, according to AIIMS New Delhi.
In an official statement, AIIMS Delhi said the victim—who was airlifted from AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Sunday—is currently admitted to the Burn ICU and is under constant medical supervision by a team of specialists.
“The patient with 75% burns was airlifted from AIIMS Bhubaneswar and received at AIIMS New Delhi at 4:20 PM. She is currently admitted to the Burn ICU in the Burns and Plastic Surgery Block. Her condition is critical, and she is on oxygen support. A team of doctors is closely monitoring her condition,” said Dr. Rima Dada, Professor In-Charge of the Media Cell at AIIMS Delhi.
The girl was allegedly attacked near a river embankment, where miscreants poured petrol and kerosene on her before setting her on fire. She managed to reach a nearby house, from where villagers rushed her to the Pipili Community Health Centre. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later referred to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
