8 Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Normal Central Assistance Stopped From 2015-16: Minister

Bhubaneswar: As many as eight earlier Centrally sponsored schemes and Normal Central Assistance has been stopped from 2015-16, informed Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari here today.

Replying to a query by Congress MLA from Kantabanjhi Santosh Singh Saluja, Pujari said that National e-Governance Action Plan (NEGAP), Backward Regions Grant Funds (BRGF):-(a) Integrated Action Plan (IAP) for Naxalite areas (b) Backward Regions Grant Funds (BRGF)-(BRGF District component) (c) Backward Regions Grant Funds (BRGF State component for KBK), National Scheme for Modernisation of Police and Other Forces (Infrastructural Component), Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Sasaktikaran Abhiyan (RGPSA), Assistance to States for Infrastructure Development for Exports (ASIDE), Scheme for setting up of 6,000 Model Schools at Block level at Benchmark of Excellence, National Mission on Food Processing, and Tourist Infrastructure.

The State used to get around Rs 1854 crore annually under these eight schemes and around Rs 610 crore annually under Normal Central Assistance, he added.

Explaining the reason behind the extra financial burden on the State, the ‌Finance Minister said earlier in Centrally sponsored schemes ratio proportion of Centre and State share was 9:10, 80:20, and 75:25 but now in a majority of schemes, it is 60:40.
