Bolangir: Muribahal police in Bolangir district have seized 8 country-made guns and five cartridges during a raid at Karlaphita village in Haldi panchayat today.
Police have detained four persons, Dharani Chandan (35), Purandar Dhurua (60), Debarchan Dhurua (30), and Sadhu Dhurua (50) in this connection. The detainees are being interrogated by the police.
A police team of Muribahal police station led by IIC Jyotirani Das conducted a raid at Karlaphita village early in the morning today leading to the seizure.
A preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the detainees were using the guns and cartridges for hunting wild animals. Police have registered a case in this connection while further investigation is underway.
