Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi’s Council of Ministers has representation from 12 districts, while eight of the Ministers including the Deputy Chief Minister and the only woman Minister Pravati Parida are first-time MLAs.
Similarly, four of the Ministers including Chief Minister Majhi belong to the Scheduled Tribe and two are from the Scheduled Caste community.
All Ministers in Majhi’s Council of Ministers have a minimum educational qualification is graduation. Suraj Suryabanshi the MLA from Dhamnagar is the youngest Minister, while Deputy Chief Minister KV Singhdeo is the oldest.
As per available information, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Cabinet Ministers Suresh Pujari, Prithviraj Harichandan, Bibhuti Bhusan Jena and Dr Krushna Chandra Mohapatra have been elected to the Odisha Assembly for the first time.
Out of the eight Cabinet Ministers, only four–Rabinarayan Naik, Nityananda Gond, Krushna Chandra Patra and Mukesh Mahaling have previous experience in Vidhan Sabha.
Similarly, out of the five Ministers of State (Independent Charge) who have taken the oath of office today, three are novices. While Pradip Bala Samant, Gokulananda Mallick and Sampad Charan Swain have been elected to the Vidhan Sabha for the first time, Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia and Suraj Suryabanshi have previous experience in the Vidhan Sabha.
While Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi represents the Keonjhar district, Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singdeo and Pravati Parida represent the Bolangir and Puri districts respectively.
