**Dhenkanal: ** As polling was underway for electing the new Hindol Notified Area Council (NAC) in the district here on Tuesday, 85.7% of peaceful polling was reported till 5 pm in the total 16 wards while 3 booths out of the total 16 were completely managed by women.
This was informed by Dhenkanal Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan to OMMCOM NEWS.
He also informed that all the women booths included all women polling staff and also women security police staff.
In Hindol NAC, a total of 16 polling booths are set in all the 16 wards and 9407 voters will decide the fate of 55 candidates.
To ensure that the voting process goes on smoothly, 3 executive magistrates, 4 mobile police team and 4 sector officers are engaged.
Notably, voting to the Notified Area Council (NAC) of Hindol in Dhenkanal district and Atabira in Bargarh district started at 8 am in the morning amid tight and elaborate security arrangements.
Earlier, there was a notification for elections on Nuapada NAC too today, but the Orissa High Court put a stay on it after receiving a petition over ward reservation.
Counting of votes and declaration of results will be on April 5.
