Bhubaneswar: A total of 868 rape cases have been registered in Odisha till the end of April 2022, informed the data shared by Minister of State (Home) Tusharkanti Behera in the Odisha Assembly on Monday.
In a written reply to the query of Congress legislator Santosh Singh Saluja, the Minister stated that a total of 2984 rape cases have been registered in the year 2020, a total of 3327 in 2021, and 868 till April 2022.
A total of 1646 rape on minor has been registered in 2020. The number rised to 1871 in 2021. Till April 2022, the total number of registered rape on minor cases is 432.
The number of dowry deaths registered in the years 2020 and 2021 are 320 and 293 respectively. Till April 2022, the number of registered dowry deaths is 85.
