Koraput: In a tragic incident, a nine-year-old boy was killed when the wall of the bathroom of their house in Gandhinagar locality of Koraput town under Town police limits caved in on him following incessant rain.
The deceased has been identified as Priyanshu Raj Bhatra.
According to reports, Priyanshu had gone to the bathroom in the morning to freshen up before leaving for school when the tragedy struck. The wall of the bathroom which was soaked following incessant rain over the last few days suddenly collapsed on him.
Priyanshu lay buried under the rubble before he was rescued by Fire Service personnel. He had severe injuries on his head.
However, by the time he was rescued the nine-year-old had breathed his last. He was the eldest child of his parents.
A pall of gloom has descended on the locality following Priyanshu’s accidental death.
