Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Legislative Assembly was today informed that 912 human beings and 535 cattle got electrocuted during the last 10 years.
Replying to an unstarred question posed by BJP legislator Nityanand Gond, Energy Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra also apprised the House that eight deaths of human beings and five deaths of the cattle due to electric shock have been registered from the assembly constituency of Umerkote (represented by the BJP MLA) in the same span of last one decade.
The Minister further informed the House that an amount of Rs 6 lakh compensation has already been paid to the affected persons.
