Bhubaneswar: A 97-year-old woman with co-morbidities has won her battle against Covid in Odisha.

Nonagenarian Chanchala Behera, who hails from Balasore district, has recovered from the infection even though she had co-morbidities.

Behera was admitted to SUM Covid Hospital here on June 18 after she tested positive for the disease.

Her condition was serious at the time of admission as she had high blood pressure and had difficulty in breathing.

Doctors at the hospital toiled hard for her recovery as she also had cardiac issues along with high blood pressure. She was admitted to the ICU.

Behera was discharged from the hospital today after 20 days.

“I thank the SUM Covid team who took excellent care of my mother-in-law,” said her daughter-in-law, Tapaswini Behera at the time of her discharge from the hospital.
