Nabarangpur: As many as 12 migrant labourers including two minors were rescued from a bus enroute Vishakhapatnam in Mangalam square of Nabarangpur late last night.

Acting on a tip-off, Town police rescued the labourers and informed the Labour inspector of the matter. Three among the rescued persons belonged to Kalahandi district while others were from Nabarangpur.

As per sources, the women were going to Chennai to work in a textile organisation while the men were on their way to work with a borewell company.

Two middlemen have also been detained in this connection and further probe is underway. Meanwhile, Labour department is making arrangements to send the labourers back to their native place.
