Bhubaneswar: Acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli recently expressed his distress over the deteriorating state of Deomali, a picturesque hill station in Odisha’s Koraput district.
Rajamouli, known for his blockbuster films, took to social media to share his concerns after wrapping up the shooting of his upcoming film ‘SSMB29’ in the region.
As per reports, after wrapping up the shooting for SSMB29 in Koraput district with an all-star cast, including Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, SS Rajamouli embarked on a solo trek to Deomali. Although he was mesmerized by the breathtaking views from the summit, his excitement was short-lived as he was disheartened by the sight of litter and neglect that has plagued the once-pristine Deomali hills.
The filmmaker shared his experience on social media, highlighting the need for preservation and conservation of Deomali’s natural beauty.
Taking to his X handle, he wrote: “Had an amazing solo trek to Deomali, Odisha’s highest and most stunning peak. The view from the top was absolutely breathtaking. However, it was disheartening to see the trail marred by litter. Such pristine wonders deserve better. A little civic sense can make a huge difference… Every visitor should carry back their waste to help protect these places.”
