Bhubaneswar: The Aadhaar e-KYC verification process for 2,69,23,830 beneficiaries under the Public Distribution System (PDS) has been successfully completed in the State, out of a total of 3,36,35,918 beneficiaries, informed Krushna Chandra Patra, Minister of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, in the Odisha Assembly on Wednesday.
In a written response to a query by Goutam Buddha Das, the BJD MLA from Bhograi, the Minister stated that, as per Supreme Court directives, the Aadhaar e-KYC verification process is ongoing.
As of now, verification of ration cards for 67,21,299 beneficiaries remains pending, with district-wise detail is provided as under:
During the verification process, deceased beneficiaries are being identified and excluded from the list. New ration cards will be issued to eligible applicants to fill the resulting vacancies, ensuring the benefits reach the deserving population, the Minister clarified.
