Bhubaneswar: The Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has funded the procurement of medical equipment for AIIMS Bhubaneswar as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
According to the BPIA, funds have been facilitated for 6 mechanical ventilators, 2 portable ventilators, and 2 defibrillators for the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar.
The AIIMS authorities have completed procurement and installation of the equipment. The equipment were opened for the public (inaugurated) on Tuesday at a function held here at AIIMS.
BPIA Director Pravat Ranjan Beuria, AIIMS Superintendent Dr Sacchidananada Mohanty and senior officials of AIIMS and BPIA were present on the occasion.
“The equipment will be helpful for treatment particularly during difficult days of COVID19 pandemic,” said Dr Mohanty and thanked AAI for its support.
