Baripada: A newborn girl child was rescued by locals while she was found lying near a bush at Bhanra village under Karanjia police limits in Mayurbhanj district on Friday.
The newborn whose health condition is stated to be critical has been admitted to the SNCU of Karanjia Sub Divisional Hospital.
Karanjia police have launched an investigation into the matter to ascertain who dumped the newborn.
