Abandoned Newborn Rescued Near National Highway In Balasore

Balasore: A newborn boy was rescued by the Rupsa police near Dhari Bridge on National Highway No. 60 in Balasore district on Tuesday.

According to reports, the infant, found stuffed inside a poly bag, was noticed by passersby who heard his cries. They immediately alerted the police.

Upon receiving the information, the Rupsa police team rushed to the spot, rescued the newborn, and admitted him to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Rupsa.

The child is currently undergoing treatment at the CHC and will later be handed over to the District Child Welfare Committee.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the abandonment.
