Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, the Additional Block Development Officer (ABDO) of Bant in Bhadrak district allegedly hacked his wife to death in front of his daughter over domestic discord today. The incident occurred at Daunr village under Nandipada police limits in Keonjhar.
The deceased has been identified as Sudeshna Jena, wife of Bant ABDO Debi Prasad Jena.
According to reports, Sudeshna had been living with her parents due to marital disputes but had recently returned to her husband’s village as their son was going to appear for Class X board examination.
On the fateful day, an argument ensued between the couple. Soon, their fight escalated into a violent attack, with Debi Prasad allegedly using an axe to attack Sudeshna in front of their daughter and fled the scene.
Upon hearing the daughter’s screams, the neighbours rushed to the scene and found Sudeshna in a critical condition. They took her to a nearby hospital and later shifted her to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital. However, the doctors at the hospital declared her dead on arrival.
On the other hand, Debi Prasad’s son alleged that his father had been having an extramarital affair and had been torturing his mother.
