Bhubaneswar: Infocity police took a crucial step forward in the investigation into the alleged suicide of a KIIT student by obtaining a three-day remand of the accused on Thursday.
As per reports, Infocity police on Wednesday had sought the permission of the court to take Advik Srivastava, the accused boyfriend of deceased Nepali student, Prakriti Lamsal, on remand for further investigation into the case.
Advik, who was arrested earlier, has been sent on a three-day remand custody beginning Thursday. During this period, police are likely to interrogate Advik to gather crucial information about his involvement with the deceased student Prakriti. The investigation is expected to reveal more details about the circumstances surrounding Prakriti’s death.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi spoke with Nepali Counsellors Sanjeeb Das Sharma and Navin Raj Adhikari over the phone regarding the issue. He assured them that justice would be delivered in the case of the deceased KIIT student, Prakriti. He also assured that peace and normalcy would be restored on the KIIT campus.
