Cuttack: Late Ollywood actor Mihir Das’ youngest son Aklant Das passed away on Tuesday night while undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Alkant was suffering from liver-related problems for the past month.

According to sources, the last rites of Aklant were performed at Sati Choura crematorium in Cuttack on Wednesday. Mihir was also cremated at Sati Choura last year.

“Aklant was undergoing treatment in ICU of AIIMS Bhubaneswar for the last five to six days. He was said to be recovering but doctors informed us at around 9.00 pm on Tuesday that his condition suddenly started deteriorating and he passed away later in the night,” said a family friend.

Another relative said, “After the death of his wife, Mihir Das had been playing the role of both father and mother to raise his children. Everybody had hoped that Aklant would recover and return home. However, he passed away at a such an early age,” said another relative

According to family members, Aklant’s elder brother Alman was in Balugaon for a film shooting when he was informed about the tragic demise of his brother.

Mihir Das, a famous actor and Aklant’s father, passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack in January 2022. The actor was reportedly suffering from kidney ailments for the past few years.
