Sundargarh: Rajgangpur Police has arrested an Additional Tehsildar of Sonepur district for sexually exploiting a girl on the pretext of marriage.
The accused identified as Rupak Kujur (32), Additional Tehsildar of Binika in Sonepur district, is a resident of Alanda village under Rajgangpur block of Sundargarh district.
As per the complaint lodged by a girl, she was in Class X in 2008 when Kujur had proposed to her and had promised to marry her later. They had a years-long affair during which he also established repeated physical relationships with her.
After getting a job, Kujur distanced himself from the girl and refused to marry her.
Based on the complaint, Rajgangpur Police registered a case against Kujur under several sections of IPC. Following a probe, he was arrested with the help of the local Binika Police.
