Bhubaneswar: The State Vigilance on Thursday arrested the Additional Civil Supplies Officer (ACSO) of Nuapada, Ratnakar Sethy in connection with a disproportionate assets case. The Vigilance, which had carried out raids at several locations in this case, stated that the movable and immovable property of Sethy is worth around Rs 6.43 crore.
Cuttack Vigilance have registered a case in this matter and booked Sethy and his wife under multiple Sections of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act – 2018 and Section 34 of the IPC. Sethy was produced in the court of Special Judge Vigilance in Cuttack today.
“On Wednesday, the six teams of the Vigilance carried out searches at as many locations in this case. Sethy owns a 4-storeyed building in Chauliaganj which has been valued at Rs 2.12 crore. Further, he owns two multi-storeyed houses in Madhupatna area of Cuttack,” the Vigilance said.
Apart from this, Sethy and his family members own a farm house land measuring 3 acres in Gurudijhatia, 4 plots in Cuttack, bank deposits of Rs 89.24 lakh and insurance deposits worth Rs 1.17 crore, the Vigilance said. The value of the assets owned by Sethy and his relatives is 570 times his legitimate income.
