Bhubaneswar: An oath-taking ceremony of 19 newly recruited Fire Station Officers was celebrated by the Odisha Fire and Disaster Response Academy (OFDRA) in Bhubaneswar today, which was graced by DG Fire Services, Satyajit Mohanty, as Chief Guest.
After completing their 9-month training curriculum on fire fighting and Disaster Management, the officers took the oath to work with sincerity, dedication, and devotion without any discrimination in their service career to uphold the motto “WE SERVE TO SAVE”.
The ceremony was held indoor in the conference hall of Fire Academy unceremoniously in view of the imposition of social distancing measures. Director of the Academy, Maheswar Swain, read out the report and informed that the trainee officers have successfully completed training on Fire Safety, Disaster Management, Watermanship, Driving, Swimming and Stress Management. They are well trained on tackling highrise fires, Industrial fires and delivery of online services to the public.
DG Fire Services Mohanty asked the newly recruited officers to adhere to professionalism in the job and feel the essence of God through Karma without self-advertisement. He also impressed upon that their words and action should never divulge the very motto of Fire Service “WE SERVE TO SAVE”.
He said them not to compare with others. He urged the officers to be always a proud firefighter being loyal to their uniform. He stressed that God has given this rare opportunity and scope to serve mankind to which other s pang. At last, he wished for a bright future of the young officers and felicitated the successful officers.
IGP Fire Services, Asheet Kumar Panigrahi, emphasized that the key to the success of Odisha Fire Service lies in its training Odisha Fire Service has got national recognition because of its advanced training curriculum.
