Adulterated Ginger-Garlic Paste Making Unit Busted In Berhampur

Berhampur: Police busted a fake ginger garlic paste unit at Lakshmi Nrusingh Sahi, Badabazar police station in Ganjam district on Thursday.

During the raid, police found a large quantity of ginger and garlic paste in 14 plastic containers, 41 boxes, five machines, and one weighing machine.

The estimated value of the seized items and equipment is around Rs 15 lakh. The adulterated spice was sold under the brand name ‘Khanti Kitchen’.

The paste was supplied to various parts of Berhampur and surrounding areas. The police sealed the unit and detained its owner, E Ritik Patra, for questioning.

The police have seized the containers and are conducting further investigations to determine whether the unit had a valid FSSAI license.
