Cuttack: Police busted an adulterated milk unit, Rohini Milk, in Odisha’s Cuttack on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, the Jagatpur police and the Food Safety Department of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC)conducted a joint raid on the premises of Rohini Milk and busted the adulterated milk factory.
The raid is being undertaken in the Atada area under Jagatpur police limits in Cuttack district. During the raid, it was found that milk was prepared by mixing food waste, chemicals, contaminated water and salt. Moreover, the manufacturing process was unhygienic and the unit was operating without a valid license.
The unit not only produced adulterated milk but curd and lassi and these products were marketed in Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jajpur and Puri.
Cuttack ADCP Anil Kumar Mishra told the media that the police are investigating the matter from all angles. The Food Department has collected samples from the said milk-producing unit and detained the owner of the factory for interrogation.
