Koraput: Amid the ongoing border dispute between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh over Kotia region of Koraput, the health workers of the neighbouring State were found holding a health and awareness camp in Galigabad village under Pottangi block in Koraput district.
The undisputed village that belongs to Nuagaan Gram Panchayat is a part of Odisha. There is no dispute between the two States over the region. Still, Andhra health workers sneaked into the border villages to entice the residents towards the Andhra government by providing free health services.
When the matter came to the notice of Pottangi block chairperson Kalpan Pangi, she immediately rushed to the village and gave them a warning for doing unlawful acts.
In a video clip, Pangi was heard persuading them to leave the place. She said the region is a part of Odisha. So, the health team of Andhra should vacate the place immediately.
Following the warning by the Block chairperson, the health workers left the place.
The incident sparked a fresh cause of concern for the administration when the Kotia dispute is still continuing between the two States.
Earlier, the Andhra officials were found distributing freebies to the residents and holding awareness camps in Kotia on several occasions.
