After Puri Shankaracharya, Bijoy Mohapatra Also Slams BJP For Inaction Despite Law Portfolio Earlier

**Bhubaneswar**: After Puri Shankaracharya of Govardhan Peeth Swami Nischalananda Saraswati’s allegations that the BJP had shared power with the BJD for nine years and had done nothing to clear the mess in the Sri Mandir despite holding the Law portfolio, the BJP was taken unawares by a critical remark against it by none other than its own senior leader Bijoy Mohapatra.

He said, “Puri Shankaracharya has pointed out the right thing. It cannot be denied that the Law portfolio was with the BJP for 9 years. What was done in that period regarding the temple administration will be properly brought out by the Commission.”

BJP leader Biswabhusan Harichandan, who was Law Minister during coalition government clarified that several measures were taken during that period. In response to Bijoya Mohapatra’s allegation he said, “Some people make remarks without having full knowledge of that period. This is very unfortunate. My main focus was servitors’ welfare and discipline when I was in the office. I brought many reforms and upgraded the temple administration. No big fiasco occurred during my term which would pose a question to the intentions of the government’”

“We all have heard how Puri Shankaracharya slammed BJP for its ineffective 9-yr-term during the coalition government. What the BJP is doing now is just eyewash, and it is trying to mislead the people,” said Congress spokesperson Debasish Pattanaik.
