Puri: Ahead of the annual Rath Yatra, preparation of fake ‘Mahaprasad’ (the offering of rice, dal, besara, etc made to Lord Jagannath and his siblings) by some unscrupulous persons in Paika Sahi area on Lokanath Road here for sale to devotees has come to the fore today.
According to reports, preparation of the fake ‘Mahaprasad’ was being undertaken under a tent in an open field in Paika Sahi area.
Those involved in the preparation of the fake ‘Mahaprasad’ fled the spot after media persons arrived at the spot.
The incident has caused severe resentment among the devotees apart from hurting their sentiments.
