Balasore: In a significant breakthrough, forest officials in Balasore district have arrested three poachers and seized five country-made guns with the help of AI-enabled cameras installed in the Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary.
The cameras, which were set up as part of the tiger census, captured images of the poachers, leading to their identification and arrest.
The poachers, identified as residents of Betei village under Oupada block and Narsingsila village, were arrested after a joint operation by Soro forest officer Harihar Majhi and Kuldiha range officer. The forest officials also recovered five country-made guns hidden in the forest.
The accused will be produced in court today.
