Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo today emphasized the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in agriculture, stating it will help farmers maximize profits by providing advance information on crops.
The discussion at Lok Seva Bhavan, attended by Commissioner-cum-Secretary Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav and Director Agriculture Shubham Saxena, followed the announcement of the Odisha budget, which saw a 12.3% increase in agriculture and allied sectors. Singh Deo thanked the Chief Minister for the increased allocation, highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing farmers’ income.
The discussion showcased innovative solutions, including a smartphone-based app presentation by Krishivaas, enabling crop monitoring, disease prediction, and temperature control. Digital crop surveys via satellites are also underway, demonstrating Odisha’s proactive approach to leveraging technology for agricultural growth.
