Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against an Assistant Administrative Officer of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar and five others for allegedly manipulating recruitment to Group-B and Group-C posts using forged documents.
Sources said Saturday that the agency initiated action based on a preliminary enquiry launched in March, which revealed prima facie evidence of criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery, and bribery.
Those booked include Assistant Administrative Officer of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar recruitment cell Sudhir Kumar Pradhan, along with Rajashree Panda, Sangram Mishra, Sai Sagar Kar, Sambit Mishra, and Sruti Sagar Kar.
According to the CBI, Sruti Sagar Kar, an employee of Bombay Intelligence Security (India) Limited, allegedly orchestrated the scheme to secure permanent jobs at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar for his wife, relatives, and associates.
Investigators found that the recruitment process for posts advertised on July 1, 2023, was compromised through the use of fake educational and work experience certificates. The alleged forgeries were issued in the name of Shree College of Paramedical Sciences, Ghaziabad—an institution and its affiliating body, Allied Healthcare Council of India, which the CBI claims do not exist at the addresses mentioned on their website.
The accused also purportedly submitted fabricated work experience certificates from B.R.D. Medical College, Gorakhpur, for roles such as sanitary inspector and medical record technician. These documents were allegedly arranged by Kar in collusion with the job applicants.
The probe further revealed that Pradhan failed to alert higher authorities when a verification letter sent to the Ghaziabad institute was returned undelivered, enabling the four candidates to retain their posts.
