Air Odisha Director Santosh Pani Arrested Again

**Bhubaneswar:** The Khandagiri police arrested former Air Odisha Aviation (AOA) chairman-cum-managing director Santosh Pani as he violated the conditions laid down in the bail granted by the court to him last year.

The police had issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against the accused and managed to nab him today.

Notably, he was arrested in June 2016 by the Commissionerate Police on a complaint filed by Sandeep Ray, son of former Union Coal Minister and BJP legislator Dilip Ray. According to Sandeep’s complaint, he had invested Rs 40 lakh in the company and Air Odisha cheated him of his money. But, Pani was awarded a conditional bail.

The airline, which was operating flights to four cities of Odisha from the Bhubaneswar airport from January 2016, was mired in controversies with complaints filed by investors against the management.

This led to the termination of its agreement with the State Government from June 2016. The State’s general administration department’s Centre for Modernising Government Initiatives (CMGI) stated that the company breached the terms and conditions of the agreement.
