**Koraput:** The alertness and apt intelligence inputs have been able to avert the nefarious designs of the Maoists in the naxal-infested Narayanpatna jungle in the south Odisha district here.
The hawk-eyed BSF troop on prowl there could hound out IED (landmine) of 8 kg and accessories used by the red ultras for causing devastation to the troop.
As per reports, specific information was received by the BSF intelligence wing that an IED had been planted at 8 pm on Thursday ( June 15), underneath a culvert between Anchalpur village and Podapadar against the movements of BSF troops.
Acting on this information, a special search party was pressed into action. The party with all precautions scoured the whole area and found out an IED planted under a culvert about 600 meters ahead of village Anchalpur towards Narayanpatna side.
BSF troops retrieved the IED which was approx 8 kg and was prepared using a steel tiffin carrier.
Other accessories like wire 10 meters and cells were also recovered.
