Bhubaneswar: Odisha government targets to provide electricity connection to all remaining houses in the State by September end this year, informed Deputy Chief Minister Energy KV Singh Deo in the State Assembly on Wednesday.
In a written reply to a query by Congress MLA from Lakshmipur Pabitra Saunta, the Deputy Chief Minister said that as per information made available from power distribution companies (DISCOMs), houses not having electricity connection have been included under the State government’s electrification scheme and Rs 415 crore has been provided to the DISCOMs for the purpose and it is targetted to provide electricity connections to those houses the end of September 2024.
Singh Deo added that work for providing electricity connection to 1432 houses not having electricity connection in Lakshmipur constituency is underway.
