Cuttack: Alleging being blackmailed by a journalist and harassed by police, a woman of Pattamundai in Kendrapara district poured kerosene and tried to set herself on fire in front of the DGP office in Cuttack on Wednesday.
The woman alleged that a journalist identified as Saroj Rath of Pattamundai had been blackmailing her by keeping her photos and videos. Despite repeated complaints, the police are not taking any action but rather shielding him and harassing her.
As a result, she decided to set herself on fire in front of the DGP office. She was rescued by the police present on the office premises.
