Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep sorrow over the death of an auto driver in a collision between an ‘Ama Bus’ and an auto-rickshaw near Rupali Chack in Bhubaneswar yesterday. He has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the bereaved family and wished the injured student a speedy recovery.
The Chief Minister has directed the Transport Department to take steps to address frequent accidents involving ‘Ama Bus’ services in coordination with CRUT. He emphasised improving the skills of ‘Ama Bus’ drivers through regular training, focusing on their physical and mental health, and creating a sensitive attitude among them.
Majhi has also instructed the Commerce and Transport Department to form a special squad to check the fitness of ‘Ama Buses’ and review the situation regularly to prevent such incidents.
