Ama Bus Catches Fire

Bhubaneswar: An ‘Ama Bus’ caught fire at the Patia Ama Bus depot on Sunday afternoon, but no casualties were reported. The incident occurred while the electric bus was being charged.

According to an Ama Bus driver, a short circuit in the bus battery is believed to have triggered the fire. Two fire service teams rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control within a short time.

“We received a call from the control room at around 3:15 pm informing us about an Ama Bus on fire near Patia. We immediately reached the site. Preliminary investigation indicates that a battery short circuit likely caused the fire. The fire has now been fully doused. There were no casualties, and the situation is under control. Further investigation is underway,” said Station Officer Biplab Kumar Jena.
