**Bhubaneswar: ** Under the most ambitious and flagship programme of incumbent Odisha Government, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday (June 27) accorded his seal of approval on the spot to 1365 rural projects of 154 Gram Panchayats (GPs) in 7 blocks of the State for which Rs 31.54 crore was sanctioned then and there.
The seven blocks are Sukinda in Jajpur district, Kalimela in Malkangiri district, Buguda in Ganjam district, Nuagoan in Sundargarh district, Satyabadi in Puri district, Parjang in Dhenkanal district and also Bonai in Sundargarh district.
While Rs 3.91 crore was sanctioned for executing 70 projects under 25 GPs in Sukinda Block, Rs 4.45 crore was approved for undertaking 294 projects under 23 GPs in Kalimela Block, Rs 5.25 crore for executing 200 projects under 21 GPs in Buguda Block, Rs 5 crore for 155 projects under 20 GPs in Nuagaon block, Rs 5.16 crore for 290 projects under 23 GPs in Satyabadi Block, Rs 5.71 crore for 240 projects under 29 GPs in Parjang Block and Rs 2.06 crore for 116 projects under 13 GPs in Bonai Block.
In his video-conferencing interface with the public as well as their elected representatives, the Chief Minister said that the funds approved are of the people of Odisha meant for their developmental needs. He, thus, instructed that the approved projects should be executed properly and without any delay.
In return, the people and their elected representatives thanked and praised the Chief Minister for his novel initiative.
Prominent among others, Odisha Chief Secretary, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department Principal Secretary, local MPs, MLAs, District Collectors and elected Panchayat representatives were present at the programme.
