**Bhubaneswar: ** Pursuing his regular review and interaction with the rural populace twice a week since the launching of Odisha Government’s flagship programme ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ on March 5 this year and its further implementation at the Block level recently, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday (May 29) sanctioned Rs 12.81 crores on the spot for 543 rural projects of 58 Gram Panchayats (GPs) in 3 Blocks of 3 districts.
The three Blocks are Koraput Sadar in Koraput district, Golmunda in Kalahandi district and Kakatpur in Puri district.
While Rs 2.52 crore has been instantly approved for 88 projects of 14 GPs under Koraput Sadar Block, Rs 6.16 crore for execution of 295 projects in 28 GPs under Golmunda Block and Rs 4.13 crore for undertaking 160 projects in 16 GPs under Kakatpur Block.
As has been a part and parcel of the ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ programme, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik held video conferencing from the State Secretariat with the concerned GPs and Blocks. The elected representatives of the GPs and the villagers presented the developmental schemes of their localities. Then and there the CM accorded his seal of approval and sanctioned the requisite funds from the State coffers.
While the people present there thanked the Chief Minister for his unique rural development initiative, the Chief Minister sought people’s cooperation in this rural development programme. The Chief Minister also advised the rural populace to complete the sanctioned projects soon and in a proper manner.
