**Bhubaneswar: ** Pursuing his regular review and interaction with the rural populace since the launching of Odisha Government’s flagship programme ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ on March 5 this year and its further implementation at the Block level recently, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday (June 5) sanctioned Rs 23.30 crores on the spot for 1002 rural projects of 97 Gram Panchayats (GPs) in 4 Blocks of 4 districts.
The four Blocks are Kukudakhandi in Ganjam district, Saintala in Bolangir district, Khaira in Balasore district and Dasamantpur in Koraput district.
While Rs 5.50 crore has been instantly approved for 142 projects of 22 GPs under Kukudakhandi Block, Rs 5.50 crore for execution of 233 projects in 22 GPs under Saintala Block, Rs 9.36 crore for execution of 446 projects in 37 GPs under Khaira Block and Rs 2.94 crore for undertaking 181 projects in 16 GPs under Dasamantpur Block.
As has been a part and parcel of the ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ programme, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik held video conferencing from the State Secretariat with the concerned GPs and Blocks. The elected representatives of the GPs and the villagers presented the developmental schemes of their localities. Then and there the CM accorded his seal of approval and sanctioned the requisite funds from the State coffers.
While the people present there thanked the Chief Minister for his unique rural development initiative, the Chief Minister sought people’s cooperation in this rural development programme. The Chief Minister also advised the rural populace to complete the sanctioned projects soon and in a proper manner.
